EU's Juncker says the British 'have to pay'

EU Commission President Jean Claude Juncker speaks in the European Parliament

The European Commission president warned that the talks "will take longer than initially thought" because of Britain's refusal to accept the EU's divorce bill demands.

"If we allow it, but it is not up to us of course, if Catalonia is going to become independent and then other people would do it the same, I do not like that", Juncker said in a speech at the Luxembourg University. That's the reason why this process will take longer than initially thought.

However, with the European Union and Britain currently in stalemate, and both parties unable to find "a real compromise as far as the remaining financial commitments of the United Kingdom are concerned", Juncker said, the original deadline now seems out of reach.

They have to pay, not in an impossible way.

The Luxembourgish politician also said the United Kingdom will have to pay if they want to move on to the second stage of Brexit negotiations.

Speaking about the financial settlement at a press conference in Brussels alongside UK Brexit Secertary David Davis on Thursday, Barnier said: "On this question we have reached a state of deadlock which is very disturbing for thousands of project promoters in Europe and it's disturbing also for taxpayers". So let them (stay) here and let them (stay) there.

Citigroup Holds To Rating And Raises Price Target On Netflix, Inc. (NFLX)
MKM Partners reissued a " buy " rating and issued a $195.00 target price on shares of Netflix in a report on Monday, July 10th. In terms of performance, we can pore into the stats for Netflix , Inc. 93 funds opened positions while 256 raised stakes.

"Citizens' rights, yeah there we are making progress".

"This means Great Britain still has it in its own hands whether there will be enough progress so that the second phase of negotiations can be started", he stated. Now we have to deal with the results and the first to be impressed by the numerous disadvantages, the Brexit meaning Brexit is entailing, are the Britrish. It would give huge and unaccountable power to ministers and puts vital rights and protections at risk.

Meanwhile, an aide to the Treasury's ministerial team dismissed calls by Tory grandee Lord Lawson for Chancellor Philip Hammond to be sacked.

But Chris Philp told BBC Newsnight: "That's nonsense".

In response to Mr Juncker's comments, Downing St said Mrs May had made clear in her Florence speech that the United Kingdom would honour its financial obligations.

The deadlock in the talks comes despite Theresa May promising to "honour commitments" to the European Union budget made while the United Kingdom was a full member of the bloc. "The details are for negotiations".
