Ezekiel Elliott will play against the Redskins next week

This stat will make Cowboys fans feel even worse about their slow start

After the National Football League received a preliminary injunction against a court ruling allowing Elliott to play, another judge issued a restraining order last week that cleared him to play in Sunday's 40-10 win at San Francisco.

"The NFL can not show any good cause for its proposed dramatic departure from the Court's ordinary scheduling requirements", the NFL Players Association successfully argued on behalf of Elliott. He was granted a second temporary restraining order against the league last week to prevent the start of a six-game suspension.

The NFL requested that Ezekiel's Elliott's October 30th hearing in NY for the ongoing fight over his suspension be moved up to this week.

The Players Association challenged the suspension, allowing Elliott to appear in all games this season as the case winds its way through the courts. First, during last week's TRO hearing before Judge Paul Crotty (Judge Failla was on vacation), National Football League attorney Dan Nash pointed out that Judge Failla "just two months ago. reviewed a labor arbitration award, confronted the same kinds of fundamental fairness argument [presented in Elliott's case], and she said quoting [the NFL's victory in the Tom Brady case] that does not apply in the Second Circuit". The Cowboys totally controlled this game on all 3 fazes of the game.

The Cowboys will now head into week 8 preparing for their matchup with the Redskins in Washington. Overall this season, Elliott has totaled 540 yards and four scores on the ground.

The Redskins play the Cowboys at FedEx Field next Sunday at 4:25 p.m.
