O.J. Simpson has been released from prison after serving nine years for armed robbery and other charges.

"I told him, 'Don't come back, ' and he responded, 'I don't intend to, '" the corrections representative said.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is objecting to O.J. Simpson's relocation to Florida upon his release from prison, which could take place as early as Sunday. However, he must get permission from the parole board before he can move to the state.

Simpson's attorney, Malcolm LaVergne, told ABC News on Friday that upon his release, Simpson wants to go to Florida, where he can "see his family and hug his family on the outside of prison".

The three had attended Simpson's parole hearing in July at the same prison where Simpson spent his prison term and was released just minutes into the first day a parole board set for his possible release. Simpson had been a Florida resident and his grown children live in that state. Keast said the early morning release was best for Simpson, the staff and the community, and said it "had to be done for safety reasons".

Simpson left prison shortly after midnight with all of his belongings so they couldn't be sold as memorabilia, the Post reported.

OJ Simpson and wife Nicole Brown Simpson. But as media requests began pouring in and her department began getting "a lot of comments and phone messages that were very aggressive in nature", she said they had to run a trick play. She's the attorney general, she has nothing to do with it.

LaVergne also suggested that his client simply doesn't have the money, saying "As far as I know, (Simpson) will be a retiree".

Simpson is out after spending nine years behind bars in a 2008 armed robbery and kidnapping case. He was found liable for the killings in a civil court hearing two years later and ordered to pay the victims' families $33.5m. He was acquitted the following year in Los Angeles in what was dubbed the "trial of the century".
