Kathy Griffin's CNN New Year's Eve Host Replacement Revealed

Anthony Bourdain

New Yorkers and CNN viewers are set to ring in 2018 with Coop and "Watch What Happens Live" host Andy Cohen, it was revealed on Twitter Wednesday.

CNN canned Griffin in May after the controversial comedian posted a photo of herself holding an effigy resembling the severed head of President Donald Trump.

CNN tweeted that it had terminated its agreement with Griffin.

He and good pal Cooper will be live from Times Square in New York City.

Cohen and Cooper regularly tour together, hosting a night of conversation in various cities throughout the country.

"Andy is the life of the party wherever he goes, and what bigger party is there than New Year's Eve?". "It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate". Cooper's tenure on the program dates back farther, to 2002.

The pair have been friends for decades, performing in standup/discussion shows across the globe.

Cohen also has a long-standing relationship with Griffin from his time as a network executive at Bravo.

Due to their long-standing friendship, Cohen and Cooper have frequently appeared on each other's program.

Soon after Cooper's comments, however, Griffin told The Cut that her friendship with Cooper was over, as she was "hurt deeply" by him declaring they were still friends without checking in with her first.
