Las Vegas gunman booked hotel overlooking Lollapalooza, report says

Vegas killer booked two rooms overlooking Lollapalooza this summer

One of the hotels Paddock booked was the Blackstone on South Michigan Avenue.

A man believed to be Stephen Paddock booked two rooms at the city's famed Blackstone Hotel for the week that Lollapalooza was being held, but never checked in. We are cooperating with the authorities on this matter.

Still, Paddock was considered a high-value player, and casinos rewarded his gambling with perks that included free trips, rooms, meals and other luxuries, his brother said.

The same week that the Life is lovely event was set to go down, Paddock sent his live-in girlfriend, Marilou Danley, home to the Philippines to "spare her life", according to her sisters. That said, a senior law enforcement official said that hotels in the vicinity typically have an obstructed view, if one at all. Lombardo said some victims were counted twice in the confusion following the shooting.

At least 58 people were killed and 489 were injured after Paddock fired on the concert attendees.

Danley spent much of the day being questioned by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in Los Angeles, where she arrived from the Philippines.

In the days after the attack, it remained unclear why Paddock carried out his attack.

When Paddock checked into the Mandalay Bay on September 28, he requested an upper-floor room with a view of the Route 91 Harvest music festival, according to a person who has seen hotel records turned over to investigators and spoke on condition of anonymity.

Authorities still have no idea what caused retired accountant and chronic gambler Stephen Paddock to snap.

Two House members said Friday they plan on introducing a bipartisan bill to ban bump stocks.

Grant Park is where President Barack Obama held his victory rallies after the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, drawing more than 200,000 people each time.

Bookings have been uncovered in Ogden a luxury condo tower that overlooks the Life is attractive festival in Las Vegas from September 22 to 24. "That's the one in this one, and we are not there yet", FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said.

"A machine gun is not going to blow up a tank of fuel", he said.

Lombardo said he didn't know what Paddock intended with the explosives and wouldn't elaborate on getaway plans.
