LeBron James in Jeopardy of Missing Opening Night vs. Celtics

Derrick Rose Pushes Back Against Accusations That He Didn't Recruit Free Agents

On a spinning drive to the hoop during the first quarter of last night's game, James appeared to tweak his ankle a bit.

"He was experiencing soreness so he won't practice tomorrow, he won't play on Friday, either", Lue said.

Cleveland finishes its preseason schedule with a game against the Orlando Magic on Friday night, with J.R. Smith being moved into the starting lineup in place of LeBron James and veteran guard Jose Calderon likely to be a greater factor in Lue's rotation.

Lue also said he was "not sure" if James would be ready to play in the Cavs' season opener on October 17 against Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics, although with six days remaining before the Celtics game for James to rehabilitate his ankle, the Cavs coach was not about to make any definitive statements about his star's status.

"I'm very comfortable in this role, but I am still trying to grow and continue to get better", said Holiday, according to an article on the Chicago Bulls website. "I just wanted to try and test my foot, test my ankle to see how I would come out tonight".

It would be a fairly large upset if James were to miss the season opener, as he's never missed one in 14 seasons.

In essence, James' knew his ankle was sore, he wanted to see how it would feel if he played and wanted to get a game in with his new teammates with the chance to rest for almost a week before the season starts.

Jerry Jones reportedly made anthem statements to take on 'bad guy' role
The popular sports host has unloaded his issues with the Dallas Cowboys for punishing players over protesting the National Anthem. Unlike the National Basketball Association , the NFL does not now have a rule that requires players to stand for the anthem.

"I'm pushing through it right now", James said. He was joined by Wade, Kevin Love and newcomers Derrick Rose and Jae Crowder.

The Cavs All-Star contributed 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block after 30 minutes in his first exhibition game with his new teammates.

"We cleaned it up today and pretty much put in four sets that they will run throughout the course of the game and throughout the course of the season that keeps the floor spread, but it's continuous action", Lue said. "All got on the same page".

"You want to see what works".

Only James played the same spot he holds now (when healthy) on the 2016-17 Cavs.

Love and Wade were a combined 2 for 19 Tuesday. "But we have to make do with what we have".
