Roberto Martinez fears Marouane Fellaini has suffered ligament injury in Belgium win

Reuters Darren Staples

The Manchester United midfielder lasted just half an hour in Sarajevo before limping off with a knee problem while the score was still 1-0 to his side.

Fellaini pulled up and required attention from Belgium's medical team before being replaced by Leander Dendoncker. Less than a minute after the former Everton man left the field, Bosnia equalised.

Should Martinez's fears come true then it will be a blow for Fellaini as he's finally won over a large section of United fans with his improved performances since the arrival of Mourinho and has already weighed in with four goals across all competitions this season.

Star striker Romelu Lukaku has not been made available to play for Belgium against Bosnia this evening because of a knock, but teammate Marouane Fellaini - who looks reborn under Mourinho this season - was indeed handed a start.

Speaking after the match he explained: 'We are all anxious about Fellaini.

Yankees' Girardi on Game 2 loss: 'I feel frightful about it'
Reliever Chad Green threw a pitch inside that appeared to hit the left fielder and the home plate umpire awarded him first base. New York Post columnist Joel Sherman said that the Game 2 blunder will forever hang over Girardi's tenure with the Yankees.

United already have a mini-crisis in their midfield with Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick both on the sidelines, leaving Ander Herrera to step up to the plate.

Such news is unlikely to go down well at Old Trafford.

Although the full extent of the injury is not yet known, it seems to be understood that the attacking midfielder will miss the Red Devil's derby clash against Liverpool in the Premier League.

"I've worked with him and he's a great lad to train because he does exactly what you want".

"He is effective, knows his strengths and limitations, and he's somebody who Jose has put a lot of faith in and he has repaid that with some important goals".
