#Saveforlater: Twitter to soon introduce bookmarking feature

Twitter to soon come out with an option to bookmark tweets to save them

Being world's most popular microblogging website, Twitter is getting a lot of new features to its app. At present, if you want to save a tweet for later, you have to either message it to yourself or Like it. The giant has also expanded the Tweet characters from 140 to 280 recently. The country is growing as an important market for Twitter, and now, is its second biggest market after the U.S. In fact, this Save for Later was the most demanded feature which is being tested.

VP product Keith Coleman made the announcement with the hashtag "Saveforlater".

The company's product manager Jesar Shar revealed the new feature, which will be known as "Save for Later", yesterday evening and noted that it is something that has been highly requested for some time, particularly by users in Japan.

"For Hack Week @Twitter we started developing #SaveForLater". You can find out the Tweets from here.

Twitter is yet to provide more information on the feature, but we're expecting it to roll out to users in the near future.

The feature is in the experiment phase and the company is still looking for feedback as they share designs. If you click "Add to Bookmarks", you can save that tweet.

These methods are not ideal as they're not as fast as just clicking a button to save the tweet, with the exception of the "heart" feature. You can choose from these options to a particular tweet. They can also go through the slightly cumbersome task of direct messaging or emailing a tweet to themselves. On opening this, a menu opens where the bookmark option appears. The heart icon, for example, can be taken as people marking their favorite tweets, not as people bookmarking them to reference later.
