Sterling believes his future lies with Manchester City

With eight goals in 11 games the latest on Tuesday Sterling has been in impressive form

Raheem Sterling said on Monday he sees his long-term future at Premier League leaders Manchester City and has no interest in a move to Arsenal.

The England global was linked with a switch to the Emirates as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who was expected to go in the opposite direction.

"I didn't have any negative thoughts or anything bad about it [the speculation]".

Manchester City lined up Sanchez for a move but their pursuit fell through on the final day of the transfer window as Arsenal failed to land Thomas Lemar from Monaco.

"It wasn't something that I was anxious about because I think Pep is an honest guy and he would have spoken to me before that".

City manager Pep Guardiola phoned Sterling during Euro 2016 in a show of support, and the winger has improved his end product under the Spanish coach with six goals already in the Premier League this season.

"My first year here I used to always be on Instagram". I see myself here, playing my football here under a great manager and with a great team'.

'I've got two and a half years left. His other goal came in the 2-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in City's second Champions League match.

Such a deal never came to pass, however, with Guardiola later insisting that it was actually Arsenal that sought to make the England worldwide part of negotiations, to which he replied there was "zero chance".

And he says he wants to stay at the Etihad Stadium and continue his impressive form under manager Guardiola.

The former Liverpool forward has seven goals in all competitions so far this season and is closing in on his best every tally of 11 goals in a campaign, which he has achieved twice. Sterling appears certain to eclipse this, having managed 10 last term.

"I didn't need to speak with him".

Sterling praised Guardiola's contribution to his game.

"He has been massive for me especially with the basic and simple stuff and he always tries to get you do the simple stuff at a really top level and that is the genius thing about him and it works", said the England global. "That has been a massive question mark". Of the challenge that awaits his side, Guardiola said: "It is not a team that is going to wait". They have three guys who are so dynamic: [Lorenzo] Insigne, [Dries] Mertens and [José] Callej?n.
