Age-restricted content - YouTube Help

If the review finds the video is in violation of the new policy, it will be age restrictied, automatically blocking it from showing up in the Kids app. More importantly, they also don't show up on YouTube Kids, a separate app aimed at parents who want to let their children under 13 use the site unsupervised. Users won't be able to watch such videos unless they are logged into the site and are older than 17. If a video with recognizable children's characters gets flagged in YouTube's main app, which is much larger than the Kids app, it will be sent to the policy review team.

However, it appears that YouTube has disabled 4K content playback via its app for some devices, for unknown reasons. Age-restricted videos are also not eligible to be used for ads. Examples include Nickelodeon characters dying in a fiery auto crash and pole-dancing in a strip club, and popular British kids' character Peppa Pig drinking bleach or enduring a horrific visit to the dentist.

YouTube is taking care of it for now: they're rolling out a new process that allows parents more control and information about what content their kids can access.

YouTube plans to start age-restricting such flagged videos in coming weeks. The move comes after YouTube this summer said it would pull advertising from content that portrays family-entertainment characters (such as, say, Mickey Mouse or Ronald McDonald) engaging in "violent, sexual, vile, or otherwise inappropriate behavior". It's in the process of training its team of moderators, which review videos on its site, to recognize and flag such videos.

Patrice Evra: Marseille defender banned from Uefa club matches for seven months
He will remain suspended should he sign for a club who is still in European competition. Both parties agreed and chose to end their collaboration by mutual agreement.

Following revelations that YouTube is serving up to kids thousands of inappropriate and disturbing videos, the company said it will step up its efforts to prevent children from seeing such content.

The question of what defines "inappropriate" content is still an open one. "If this happens, you can notify YouTube by flagging the video", the statement said. But the company did not detail what exactly the line would be, nor provide examples of previously unrestricted videos which would now be flagged. "Someone or something or some combination of people and things is using YouTube to systematically frighten, traumatise, and abuse children, automatically and at scale, and it forces me to question my own beliefs about the internet, at every level", Bridle wrote.

YouTube says it has been working on the age restriction policy change since before it was accused of infrastructural violence against minors.
