Eagles' Jay Ajayi will play limited role in first game vs. Broncos

If you're like me, you took Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi in the second round of your fantasy football draft this year and have regretted it ever since.

However, against a Broncos' defense that entered Sunday as the NFL's No. 2 rushing defense and No. 1 total defense, Ajayi made the Eagles look like the most complete team in the league. However, Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Ajayi will be working with a "very limited" set of plays.

Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will be missing his favorite receiver today against Denver.

Ertz leads the Eagles in receptions (43), receiving yardage (528) and touchdowns (six).

Well, there was some hope when he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles this week. It's likely that he'll have a limited role to start, sharing the workload with LeGarrette Blount.

"He's done a nice job", Pederson told reporters on Friday. "He's a smart guy".

If the Dolphins thought they were going to get second-guessed for unloading Jay Ajayi last week, they're absolutely right.

In seven games with the Dolphins this season, Ajayi rushed for 465 yards without a touchdown and averaged just 3.4 yards per carry. "He's had some extra meetings with [running backs coach] Duce [Staley] this week, so we're trying to get him up to speed as fast as he can and we can".
