Former Knicks Stephon Marbury and Jimmer Fredette Nearly Brawl In China

The two made contact and Marbury knocked the ball out of Fredette's hand.

Fredette, who was playing for the Shanghai Sharks, was trying to score when he was fouled by Marbury, who was playing for the Beijing Beikong Fly Dragons.

This won't be the final highlight he creates, but it could be the last time Fredette and Marbury provide one together.

Fredette was driving for a layup late in the third quarter when Marbury tried to stop him from scoring. Marbury and Fredette then got chest-to-chest, exchanging verbal jabs. Marbury turned 40 this past February and announced this season would be his last in China after parting ways with the Beijing Ducks, a team that made him a legend overseas, complete with everything from a postage stamp to a musical in his honor.

"Haha, he forgot what an National Basketball Association steal felt like". The former BYU star has averaged 50.3 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in his last three games.

Knicks icons Stephon Marbury and Jimmer Fredette are both tearing it up in China at the moment, and they got into a nice little spat on Friday night. Fredette, 28, was the No. 10 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.

As a result, the Fredette-Marbury matchup was an unlikely one Stateside and somehow a marquis one in CBA circles.

The Sharks went on to win the game in overtime, 123-119.
