Man Discussing Church Shootings Accidentally Shoots Self in Church

Tellico Plains Police Chief Russ Parks told Gray affiliate WVLT Thursday evening the church was holding a pre-Thanksgiving dinner around 1 p.m. when some of the elders of the church began discussing a seminar being held in Blount County about guns in churches.

Police said a handgun was accidentally discharged after a discussion of bringing weapons to church was sparked at the First United Methodist Church in Tellico Plains.

According to this report out of Knoxville, during their discussion, a man in his 80s chose to pull out his.380 Ruger and proclaim that he can "carry my handgun everywhere".

He removed the gun's magazine, emptied the chamber and started passing it around, according to WATE in Knoxville. The man then loaded the magazine, apparently chambered a bullet, and returned the gun to its holster, police say.

Rising trend of casino apps
For those who are looking for a specific game, Cherry Rush also includes a description of what games can be found each site. It used to be that if someone wanted to play a casino game they had to find a land based venue.

As they talked about the November 5 massacre in Sutherland Springs, Texas, someone reportedly asked if anyone in the group brings a gun to church.

He accidentally pulled the trigger, firing one round, according to ABC News. The bullet struck his right hand and then went through his 80-year-old wife's abdomen and right forearm, according to the police chief. Their injuries didn't appear to be life threatening.

His wife is in surgery, but is expected to survive. Since America is a country with almost one gun for every citizen, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility that someone would be shot at their church while attending a meeting about church shootings. No charges will be filed Parks told Knox News.

The New York Daily News notes area schools were initially placed on lockdown.
