Netflix cuts ties with #KevinSpacey after sexual misconduct claims

Netflix Severed Ties With Kevin Spacey So What's For House Of Cards

Just days before he was first identified as an alleged serial sexual predator, Kevin Spacey was developing a line of sunglasses, clothing, gourmet-food products and other merchandise, presumably based on Frank Underwood, his scheming politician character on "House of Cards", according to documents obtained by The Blast.

Just as Netflix's hit political drama thriller returned strongly with a fifth season, sexual misconduct allegations against the series' lead player Kevin Spacey have surfaced.

His departure may not mean the end of the show, however. Netflix bosses are now reportedly working with House of Cards production company officials at Media Rights Capital to determine what to do with the show for its sixth and final season. "MRC, in partnership with Netflix, will continue to evaluate a creative path forward for the program during the hiatus".

No doubt, this new business venture is in jeopardy, given that Netflix has cut ties with Spacey, its "House of Cards" star and executive producer. Since Spacey's apology, more people have accused him of sexual harassment.

Spacey was accused of sexually assaulting Rapp at his NY apartment 31 years ago, when the Star Trek: Discovery actor was just 14.

Reuters was unable to independently confirm any of the accusations. MRC said someone complained about "a specific remark and gesture made by Kevin Spacey", but Spacey "willingly participated in a training process" and the issue was considered resolved.

The streaming provider also refused to release upcoming film "Gore" featuring the actor.

MRC said in a statement, ABC7 reported: "While we continue the ongoing investigation into the serious allegations concerning Kevin Spacey's behavior on the set of 'House of Cards, ' he has been suspended, effective immediately".

In the show, Spacey plays villainous Francis Underwood and it is thought the writers could instead focus on his equally villainous wife Claire Underwood, played by Robin Wright.
