Packers outlast Bears for Hundley's first win

Jordan Howard said his body feels the best it has since the season started

Packers QB Brett Hundley became the first signal-caller other than Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers to start against the Bears since 1991. An especially impressive pass - perhaps the best of Hundley's National Football League career thus far - came late in the fourth quarter on a scramble. Bears linebacker Pernell McPhee had an opportunity for a sack - or at least to come up with a stop shy of the first down - but Hundley broke contain and picked up 17 yards. He'll be backed up by rookie Jamaal Williams the rest of the way. The Packers tried to get him going in the Wildcat, but Cobb managed eight yards on four carries. In the first quarter Sunday, Jones was knocked out with a knee injury, allowing Montgomery to scamper 37 yards for a touchdown while accruing 68 yards from scrimmage.

Rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky completed 21 of 35 passes for 297 yards and one touchdown for the Bears.

The Packers later lost running back Ty Montgomery when he injured his ribs. It's no secret that injuries have ravaged the Green Bay Packers, and that without Aaron Rodgers, they won't be playing in January.

Trailing 10-3 midway through the second quarter, Mitch Trubisky connected with running back Benny Cunningham on a pass out of the backfield. If the success of the "next man up" mindset can carry over into the following weeks, then perhaps hope remains, however slim.
