Paige to make WWE return on Raw

New Day Smackdown 91217

The report noted a Miz TV segment with Cesaro and Sheamus was supposed to lead to a match with The Shield on the show, but WWE ended up having Mike Rome announce the match on Facebook earlier today. This will be his first show since the mumps scare threatened the Raw locker room.

Kurt Angle stepped in for an ill Roman Reigns at TLC, then Triple H has been acting as the honorary third member of The Shield on WWE's recent European tour.

Now that Reigns has returned, however, Raw looks far stronger and prepared to handle whatever SmackDown throws in its direction.

Boris Johnson 'endangered' Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe's life
The Foreign Secretary has a "constructive" conversation with Richard Ratcliffe as Michael Gove sparks a fresh row. Richard Ratcliffe also expressed concern that his wife appeared to be "on the verge of a nervous breakdown".

The Shield debuted on November 18, 2012 at Survivor Series when they helped CM Punk retain the WWE title against John Cena and Ryback. Whether or not Paige posting the photo has caused a change in plans for her at Survivor Series remains unknown at this time.

The New Day's invasion on RAW last week cost Ambrose and Rollins the RAW Tag Team titles and so new champions Cesaro and Sheamus will take on Smackdown Tag Team champions The Usos in Houston, Texas instead.

It has been rumored for weeks that at some point before Survivor Series, Raw will invade SmackDown in order to get their own back, and with only one more SmackDown show before the pay-per-view, it means Raw's siege of SmackDown will have to happen this week. Whether that match happens or not you won't have to wait for that Shield match. Fear not though WWE fans.
