Peter Kay announces 23 north west dates due to 'phenomenal demand'

The Phoenix Nights star has added more dates in Dublin, with Sunday 3 February, Wednesday 6 February and Thursday 7 February joining his already announced Friday 1 February and Saturday 2 February shows at the 3 Arena.

The previous series ended with Kayleigh confessing her love to John, only for him not to act on his feelings, prompting her to storm out of the vehicle and get in a taxi.

Car Share: Unscripted will feature Peter and Sian improvising as John and Kayleigh and the entire episode will feature what was filmed whilst driving around with no script.

Peter says: "We were always very fond of ad libbing around the script when we were filming the series so we made a decision to see what would happen if we took the script away and just relied on just our chemistry alone, reacting to whatever came on the radio".

It looks like there shouldn't be too much of a wait, with Car Share: Unscripted due to air "soon" and the finale at some point next year.

Fans had previously been left disappointed when Kay said he wouldn't be making any more episodes of the show.

The finale episode will conclude a repeat of the second series and reveal just what happens next to John & Kayleigh.

After the series ended, he said there would be no third series or Christmas specials because he was anxious about running out of ideas.

"I really miss it", Kay said in a statement on the tour announcement.

In fact, all of his 88 show dates have almost sold out since going on sale this morning.

The Bafta award-winning writer and actor, who won critical acclaim for his TV series Car Share, will be back on stage for the first time since his record-breaking tour in 2010.
