Police charge Miami fan with felony battery in altercation with officer

A woman who was seen slapping a police officer as she was carried out of a University of Miami football game has been charged with with felony battery on a police officer and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, the Associated Press reported. The 30-year-old nurse appears to attempt to slap one of the officers, misses, then lands a second slap.

The officer responded with a right hook flush to her face.

The video, originally posted to Bartstool UMiami's Twitter and Instagram pages, shows three Miami-Dade officers carrying a young woman, who is wearing a Miami jersey.

The police department is also reviewing the video to make sure proper procedure was followed.

It remains unclear what led to the woman being removed, or whether or not she was arrested. He hits her in the head with his right fist, causing her to crumble in the officers' arms as she is carried out of camera range.

Police said that they were called to a "disturbance" in the stands and when they arrived at the scene they found Freitas likely intoxicated, arguing with other fans, and yelling obscenities, according to CBS Miami. She did not immediately return a phone message seeking comment.

The University of Miami has not issued a statement about the video.
