President Donald Trump Leads Turkey Pardoning At White House

Trump will depart the White House this afternoon to spend Thanksgiving in Florida.

How to watch: The White House will be live-streaming the occasion.

- Two Minnesota turkeys set to be pardoned by President Donald Trump at the White House Tuesday are living it up in the nation's capital. There they will join Tater and Tot, the two turkeys pardoned a year ago by President Obama.

"I've been very active in overturning a number of actions by my predecessor". "I have been informed by the White House counsel's office that Tater and Tot's pardons can not under any circumstances be revoked".

"So Tater and Tot, you can rest easy", the President said. Trump says Drumstick was the victor, though both birds usually are given a reprieve. As applause erupted, the bird lifted his head to gobble at the crowd.

Investigators Find More Remains Of US Soldier Killed In Niger
Trump denied telling Johnson's widow that her husband knew "what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurts". White and other top Pentagon officials have cited the ongoing combined probe into the attack by U.S.

After Trump officially pardoned "Drumstick" at the White House, a reporter yelled the question out as onlookers applauded and drowned him out.

The annual turkey presentations continued, but the Presidential pardon didn't catch on.

The 45-pound birds are officially named "Drumstick" and "Wishbone," but the 4-H team getting them ready for the White House nicknamed the pair "Bow" and "Tie". "He refused. He was a tough cookie", Trump said.

The turkey pardon tradition began during the Harry Truman administration. It's the 70th year that the trade group has presented the US president with a turkey to mark the Thanksgiving holiday. But just as today, only one bird is honored at the annual ceremony.
