Rotten Tomatoes Will Delay the Reveal of 'Justice League's Tomatometer Score

Rotten Tomatoes is Delaying the 'Justice League' Score to the Day Before Release

Eager DC Film fans will have to wait a little longer to decide if there's a Rotten Tomatoes conspiracy against the DC Extended Universe - the reveal of the score has been delayed. People like the now-disgraced director Brett Ratner argued that the movie review aggregator is "destroying the film industry", while others pointed out that there appears to be no correlation between a low rating on Rotten Tomatoes and box office failure.

The embargo has been lifted by Warner Bros. and the reviews have already started pouring in for the latest superhero movie in town.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, Ray Fisher as Victor Stone/Cyborg, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Amber Heard as Mera, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Connie Nielson as Queen Hippolyta, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

This move is officially being made as promotion for Rotten Tomatoes' new See It/Skip It show on Facebook, in which RT will officially unveil the score for new releases.

Rotten Tomatoes Will Delay the Reveal of 'Justice League's Tomatometer Score

Rotten Tomatoes has become increasingly important to helping audiences choose which films to see, and recent projects with glowing scores have overperformed at the box-office (see: Spider-Man: Homecoming and Wonder Woman). Aside from their personal views, the hosts are also tasked to reveal the Tomatometer score for any upcoming big and small screen offerings and this week, it was the DC epic under the spotlight.

A day after officially debuting on Rotten Tomatoes with an aggregate score of 43 percent, Warner Bros.' Justice League has seen its rating drop even further.

Initial ratings that were leaked via the social app Flixter scored the movie a 48 percent on the Tomatometer, but when official ratings were released on Thursday, they brought that number down by 5 percentage points. The bottom half of the ranking, on the other hand, consists of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice (27%) and Suicide Squad (26%). What is interesting is, despite its so-called "Rotten" tag, the movie has been dubbed by countless critics as a step in the right direction for DC.

Critics on Rotten Tomatoes have spoken.
