Samsung quietly unveils its next chipset, the Exynos 9810

Samsung Galaxy A5 with Infinity Display coming – Report

In our review of the Galaxy A7 2017, we pointed out that the phone featured immaculate build quality, a wide camera aperture and even IP68 water-resistance, which is very impressive considering Samsung only brought these features to flagship smartphones. However, a tipster from China has revealed that the company is also working on a compact-sized Infinity Display smartphone.

SamMobile has reported that the new Samsung Galaxy A5 will feature an Infinity Display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. This features Samsung's Experience 9.0 user interface and gives select users in the US, UK, and South Korea, the chance to play with an early version of Oreo before the final software arrives in the next few months.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) is expected to be powered by Exynos 7885 Octa-core SoC, paired with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB onboard flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot (up to 256 GB). Samsung usually doesn't launch its budget smartphones with the latest version of Android out of the box, so this isn't really surprising. Speculations are rife that the company may debut a second-generation iPhone SE 2 in first quarter of 2018. The listing on the two benchmarking websites revealed that the smartphone came with a 6-inch Full HD+ Infinity Display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution. As for Galaxy A7 (2018), it seems that its release could happen sooner than expected. A different rumor said the Galaxy S9 is supposed to enjoy a short Snapdragon 845 exclusivity, which is expected to be next year's top Qualcomm platform for Android devices.

Unfortunately, the price of these devices will surely increase because an Infinity Display plus a Super AMOLED display combo is not cheap at all. Tell us your thoughts down in the comments.
