Two Stabbed At Mall Of America

Bloomington police say a suspect is in custody after a stabbing at Macy's in the Mall of America

Police have named the man accused of stabbing two people inside the Mall of America during a botched theft attempt Sunday.

The incident occurred when a man confronted 20-year-old Mahad Abdiaziz Abdirahaman in the dressing room after he allegedly attempted to steal the man's belongings, CBS News reported. He's being held on two counts of probable cause first-degree assault.

The victim was stabbed, and started to yell for help.

Chief Potts says the victim interrupted the theft and the suspect pulled a knife on him. Meanwhile, the suspect is also believed to have been wounded. "Our thoughts are with the families involved".

Bloomington police say the incident happened Sunday evening in the first-floor dressing room area of the Macy's department store.

Two people were reportedly taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. "He got me!'. I knew something was not right", Situma wrote. Then the would-be thief brandished a knife and stabbed him around 6:45 p.m., authorities say. Authorities say both men suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Family members were apparently able to disarm the suspect and Bloomington police took the suspect into custody.
