But a cold front arrives today bringing strong winds, heavy rain, falling temperatures and the potential for a few severe storms. A longer line of showers and storms is racing through the central Plains this morning. Saturday should bring patches of morning fog but then partly sunny skies and highs around 50. Friday's high is in the upper 60s, while Saturday and Sunday have highs back in the mid 70s. It won't be very cold Tuesday night; with morning temperatures in the low 40s. North wind 15 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 35 miles per hour. Winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour. Overnight, we will still be in the 40s with clear skies.

It'll be cloudy today with scattered rain and show showers throughout the day.

Locations... Mountains of Southeast West Virginia, Southwest Virginia and Northwest North Carolina, as well as the Virginia foothills. Among the "big three" models, the American model is dry, the Canadian model is mostly dry, and the European model is wetter.
