Apple has also released the usual top charts listings for free and paid apps and games.

On Apple Music, Drake's "More Life" was the top album of the year and Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" was the top song. Adoption hasn't been an issue for either market as there were more than two million apps in the App Store and over 3.5 million on Google Play as of the end of October 2017. The most downloaded apps include Bitmoji, Snapchat, YouTube, Messenger, Instagram and Facebook. The Witness was also selected as Game of the Year on the Mac App Store, where Aurora HDR 2018 won in the app category.

This year, Apple has also introduced a new year-end section for the "trends of the year". This features the most interesting and important apps, games and trends in app culture.

Taylor Swift's album "reputation" has already shot up to number three on the 2017 U.S. top album charts, despite having only been available for a short period of time. "Game of Thrones" unsurprisingly dominated the iTunes TV charts, followed by "The Walking Dead", HBO's "Big Little Lies", NBC's "This Is Us", PBS's "Victoria" and FX's "The Americans".
