Federal Bureau of Investigation makes arrest in disappearance of 3-year-old NC girl

An arrest has been made in connection with the disappearance of 3-year-old Mariah Woods.

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of 3-year-old Mariah Woods, who is believed to be dead, North Carolina authorities and the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced early Saturday.

Kimrey is being charged with concealing of death, obstruction of justice, second-degree burglary, felony larceny and possession of stolen property.

Though the girl's body has not been found, ongoing searches for her have now turned into a recovery process.

NBC affiliate WRAL that Kimrey lived in the home with Mariah and her mother.

Miller said that the outpouring of support from the community has been "overwhelming" and asked that residents continue to support each other "as we all grieve the life of this little girl and still focus on finding her".

Woods was reported missing Monday morning. Authorities also said additional charges could be pending as the investigation progresses. The warrant states that he obstructed justice by "removing Mariah Woods body from the scene of her death and did hide Mariah Woods death and body, knowing that Mariah Woods died from unnatural causes".

Earl Kimrey, 32, was taken into custody by sheriff's investigators Friday.

Onslow County Sheriff Hans Miller talked during a news conference about Mariah Woods, who vanished November 27 from her home on High Hill Road.

Woods said she would give "everything in the world" to have her daughter back, "just to be able to touch her and hold her and not let her go again".

"I'll do anything that I can, whatever you want", said Woods, according to WNCN. "Nobody heard anything? Four people in the house, two adults and two kids, someone just comes up and snatches the baby and walks out?" "Just bring her home, please, safe and sound".

Kristy, who this week disabled her Facebook account after posting the missing person's appeal for her daughter, claimed that Mariah was taken by a stranger.
