LaVar Ball pulls Lonzo Ball's brother LiAngelo Ball from UCLA

Li Angelo Ball listens at a press conference at UCLA after flying back from China where he was detained

However, LaVar Ball questioned the extent of Trump's involvement in securing his son's release from Chinese custody during a combative 20-minute CNN interview.

LiAngelo arrived to UCLA as a far less heralded recruit than his older brother, Lonzo, but LaVar had repeatedly said that all three of his sons would be one-and-done basketball players.

The three players were subsequently suspended indefinitely by the team after returning to the United States. "So basically they're in jail here", he added. "I'm not going to let him sit back and not practice". "They didn't tell me anything, so why am I gonna tell them". And his latest move has him pulling another one of his sons from school.

If the decision is not reversed, LiAngelo Ball, who gained national notice when he and his two brothers all committed to play for the Bruins, will finish his stint at U.C.L.A. without appearing in a game for the team.

So what's next for LiAngelo Ball?

This is not an ideal situation since he isn't expected to be drafted. Currently, there's no telling how LiAngelo being pulled from the Bruins' program might affect LaMelo's commitment or if LaVar even wants to honor that commitment at this point. He could perhaps polish his skills with personal coaches and then take a shot at National Basketball Association pre-draft combines in the summer, but he would still be a longshot to make an National Basketball Association roster.

It looks like LiAngelo Ball will now be attending Big Baller Academy.

What seems certain is that he won't play in China.
