Saturday Night Live slams Roy Moore, Alabama football caught up in fray

Santa struggled with awkward questions from children on Saturday Night Live as he was quizzed about Roy Moore Al Franken and the NFL protests

The best line of the skit came after Santa said to one little boy: "Maybe you'd like a toy for Christmas!".

A jolly mall Santa (played by Kenan Thompson) is ready to hear the Christmas wishes of the children.

Che, meanwhile, complained about Roy Moore's continued strength in opinion polls despite allegations of child sexual abuse.

The elf (played by Kate McKinnon) said Moore wasn't on a list, suggesting he was on the sex offender registry instead. But it's not over... the kid follows up by asking what list Roy Moore would be on.

Franken, a Democrat from Minnesota, resigned from the Senate Thursday amid sexual misconduct accusations from eight different women. But you'd probably be caught off guard if a kid said the same thing.

"I guess you can say Al Franken is on Santa's naughty list this year", Thompson responds.

McKinnon's elf chimed in, "19 accusers".

One little girl asks for a Barbie - "unless the "feminazis" are going to take that away from me too".

Jessica agrees, saying she's learned that "if you admit you get something wrong, you get in trouble".

The bit ends with a girl named Jenny who says she doesn't want any gifts this year - just for "everything to be OK". "But if you deny it, you get to keep your job!" Having kids in a sketch is a dicey move on SNL, especially when you cycle through as many as they do here.

"Oh, you mean like the toy Matt Lauer gave to his co-worker?"

"Oh my goodness, OK, Jenny, Jenny, listen to me", she says. Like truly mind-bendingly insane, and we seem to have lost all perspective on what's naughty or nice'.

"I of all people am aware that there is some irony in the fact that I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the Oval Office, and a man who has repeatedly preyed on young girls campaigns for the Senate with the full support of his party", he said. Here's what I do know: Why are you going to resign if you ain't gonna apologize? It will be in "three years, 42 days and 24 minutes" or whenever Trump is out of office.

For a little added insurance, though, the kid's putting all her money in Bitcoin.
