Socceroos drawn in Group C alongside France, Peru and Denmark

World Cup Draw

Group C - France, Australia, Peru, Denmark.

Denmark are ranked 12th in the world with Peru sitting in 11th.

Australia, who are now without a coach following Ange Postecoglou's shock resignation last month, will round out the Group stage against 10th-ranked Peru at Fisht Stadium on Wednesday, June 27 at midnight (AEST).

One team from each pot is drawn into a group, making eight groups of four nations.

After speeches by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Federation Internationale de Football Association chief Gianni Infantino, the business of drawing the 32 balls from four pots began with eight World Cup greats, including Argentina's Diego Maradona and France's 1998 captain Laurent Blanc assisting in the process.

No two teams from the same confederation were permitted to be drawn in the same Group, while a maximum of two UEFA teams were allowed to land in the same foursome.
