Amazon Nixes Connecticut In Bid For 2nd Headquarters

Amazon has narrowed down a list of places it's considering to build its second headquarters and Spokane is not on it. Amazon is focused primarily on large cities on the East Coast, from Boston to Miami. Northern Virginia is also on the list of 20 bids Amazon is still considering, making three choices where Maryland could emerge a victor in some way. The announcement comes almost three months after Miami submitted its proposal to bring the company's hub to South Florida.

A total of 238 cities applied for it.

Provost and Executive Vice President Jeffrey Duerk was part of the academic commission working alongside other Florida schools that were in charge of producing information to submit in the proposal to attract the company.

The clip then shows the drone drop the bright-yellow rescue device, which self-inflates when it hits the water. Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said the rescue proved the trial had paid off.

Amazon received 239 proposals from cities across the US, including Birmingham and Huntsville.

Having first revealed the search for a second headquarters late last summer, the ecommerce giant expects to invest more than $5 billion in its construction and grow it to include up to 50,000 high-paying jobs, fully equal to the current Seattle campus. Amazon found it hard to engage with so many applicants and had to whittle the list to enter the next phase of evaluation.

The company previously said it was looking for a metropolitan area with 1 million people or more, and a stable, business-friendly environment. Los Angeles and Denver - and Toronto - made the finals.
