Ashleigh Banfield Slams Aziz Ansari Accuser On HLN

Actor producer Aziz Ansari attends the Official Viewing and After Party of The Golden Globe Awards hosted by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association on Jan. 7 2018 in Beverly Hills

Consider a few Title IX cases where young men suffered severe consequences for engaging in behavior quite similar to Ansari's, or even less obviously bad.

In a post on babe.net, Grace claimed that she exchanged numbers with Ansari at the 2017 Emmy Awards after-party and went on a date with him to a bar on the banks of the Hudson river, which escalated quickly to a sexual encounter at his apartment.

Ansari recently won a Golden Globes award for his Netflix TV show, "Master of None". Just because Ansari has convened focus groups with men and women about what it's like to date in the Tinder era - and has written a book called "Modern Romance" - doesn't mean he'll be respectful or empathic in his own dating life. Yes, we should teach men and women about sex and respect. The reason this conversation has been so heated is the same reason The New Yorker's "Cat Person" story was so popular: many of us recognize ourselves in this scenario. He expressed regret, noting he was "surprised and concerned" to get texts from Grace after their date in which she said she had been so uncomfortable because, in his mind, their evening together "by all indications was completely consensual".

"I'm sorry you had a bad date", the former CNN star, 50, said before taking the anonymous woman to task for going to the press with her story.

The New York Times writer Bari Weiss has bashed the allegation in an opinion piece titled "Aziz Ansari is Guilty".

After they went back to his apartment, Ansari allegedly started kissing her right away and, "In a second, his hand was on my breast", she told the website. She said she remembers him asking again and again, "Where do you want me to fuck you?" while she was still seated on the countertop. "This was not what I expected".

U.S. stocks open higher on strong corporate earnings
THE BITCOIN TRADE: The price of bitcoin was down 14.3 percent to $11,647, according to the tracking site CoinDesk. Deutsche Bank lost 0.8 per cent after it was accused in a lawsuit of conspiring to rig a Canadian benchmark rate.

Grace repeatedly gets up and moves away to create some space, with Ansari following and jamming two fingers down her throat. "Do you want me to f*ck you right here?" as he "rammed his penis against her a** while he said it, pantomiming intercourse".

Following the accusations him, Ansari released a statement explaining the situation from his perspective.

As we have seen in the media industry, in the legal industry, and Hollywood itself, these men are more than happy to capitalise on the sacrifices of women, willingly or unwillingly, in public or in private. That's when things got weird.

The reporter also said, "You're 23". Will he be conscientious about confirming that consent is affirmative and enthusiastic? "You continued to engage in the sexual encounter".

While consent is at the heart of nearly everything that has come up in the #MeToo movement (especially with Louis "I never showed a woman my d**k without asking first" CK), this is the first incident that has really painted a crystal clear picture about why enthusiastic consent is so incredibly necessary on both sides. They couldn't believe it. Women are often told they're too assertive, and then not assertive enough; they're told they're sluts if they are open with their sexuality, prudes if they chose not to have sex. But in the case of so many so-called male feminist, they have knowingly created an image of themselves in order to use their power to exploit women.

Part of being a "woke bae", as Ansari is now realizing, is recognizing that you can never be fully woke.
