Blaming Tyrod Taylor For Playoff Loss is Foolish at Best

The Buffalo Bills finally ended the longest playoff drought in major sports. They're playing in the playoffs for the first time since 1999. The Jaguars are competing in the playoff for the first time in 10 years

The Jags-Steelers winner faces the Saturday night victor between Tennessee and New England on Sunday, Jan. 21 in the AFC championship game, with a berth in Super Bowl LII on the line. The victor of that game will play either New England or Tennessee in the AFC Championship Game.

Brees, who completed 23 of 32 passes, threw first-half touchdown passes of 80 yards to Ted Ginn Jr. and 9 yards to Josh Hill.

Add to that, White's forced fumble on Tampa Bay's second-to-last possession with 2:20 remaining to set up Stephen Hauschka hitting a 30-yard field goal in a 30-27 win on October 22. The Jaguars also beat the Steelers 31-29 the last time the teams faced off in the playoffs in January 2008. Only Ben Roethlisberger hit the 300-yard mark against the Jacksonville defense, and the only other QB to even make it over 250 yards was Russell Wilson. Jacksonville's NFL-best pass defense also secured a pair of interceptions, including an athletic grab by Jalen Ramsey that put the game to bed.

Peterman is of course not the first quarterback to suffer at the hands of the dominant Jacksonville defense this season.

"It was big", said Ramsey.

McDermott said after the game that Taylor, who was 17 of 37 for 134 yards with an interception, was in the concussion protocol.

How can you tune in to next weekend's AFC Divisional Round matchup between Jacksonville and Pittsburgh as the NFL Playoffs roll on? He will certainly not look back on his first playoff game with fond memories!

It was an incredibly ugly game, with both offenses struggling to do anything.

Otherwise, it was tough to watch.

Moneygram soars after announcing Ripple partnership
The goal of the pilot is to "move money as quickly as information", Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple , said in a statement . MoneyGram, a major player in the $600-billion-a-year remittance market, is similarly afflicted.

So to truly honor the Bills' overcoming what was then the longest playoff drought in major American professional sports, former National Football League head coach and current analyst Bill Cowher inducted himself into Bills Mafia to make his playoff pick on CBS.

Buffalo needs to make a slew of improvements this offseason, including finding a better offensive coordinator and perhaps an upgrade at quarterback.

Jaguars: Linebacker Paul Posluszny (hip) left, tried to return and then headed to the locker room. "We know he's basically like another skill player when he runs the ball".

Colvin made a diving effort when a pass from Taylor that was intended for tight end Logan Thomas was deflected. They limited the Jaguars to just 230 offensive yards and 10 points. A season of ups and downs for Buffalo ended with the offense letting the Bills down one final time in a 10-3 loss.

In what turned out to be a defensive battle, the first points of the game did not come until moments after the 2-minute warning in the first half. Bortles avoided interceptions entirely after throwing five in the previous two games.

Westbrook was the only Jaguars receiver to catch a pass in the game. How he fares at Heinz Field will figure into Bortles' future on Florida's First Coast.

In the rematch, the Jaguars' offense will probably have to step up.

The table was set for the Bills' first playoff win since 1995, but quarterback Tyrod Taylor was not able to take advantage.

Taylor almost ran for a 2-yard score prior to Hauschka's field goal but was tripped from behind by defensive end Calais Campbell.
