Final Fantasy 15 Royal Edition And $20 Upgrade Announced For PS4/Xbox One

Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition

Square Enix has announced new editions of Final Fantasy XV to be released in March. A Royal Vessal boat will allow players to explore the area between Cape Caern and Altissia, and players can also fish and discover new fishes and dishes aboard the Vessal. As expected, they both include the Episode Gladiolus, and Episode Prompto, and Episode Ignis story expansions, which featured their respective characters' side stories.

Armiger Unleashed - a new action-oriented version of the Armiger, which is unlocked when players find a certain accessory and collect all twelve royal arms. There are new bosses, including Cerberus, Omega, and the Rulers of Yore. The Royal Edition on PS4 and Xbox One include the same content as the Windows Edition.

There's also a new first-person mode, as well as new Trophies/Achievements and "more than a dozen" pieces of DLC, including weapons, auto skins and item sets. There's also an announcement trailer, which you can check out down below.

The Steam page for Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition is already live for you to add it to your wishlist, although pre-orders aren't up yet. With weapons, Regalia auto skins and item sets, this amounts to over a dozen DLC items in total. Additional local myths and legends will also be placed in various new locations, allowing players to obtain more information about the world. However, instead of simply porting the game to the Xbox One or PC, the company has been working long and hard on a free to play Dissidia game for mobile devices. Along with everything included in the Royal Edition, the PC version will support native 4K (maximum 8K) resolution, HDR10, Dolby Atmos, and mods. With such huge development costs, a lot was riding on the release of the latest edition to Square Enix's lineup, and overall it has been received pretty well.
