Insteon and Google Assistant release new voice-activated home system

Dish announced today that it has been working on integrating Google Home and Google Assistant into its TV service, fleshing out the options for controlling a TV with your voice.

We've already seen a lot of cool tech from CES 2018, but if there's one thing that's been apparent throughout the show, it's that Google is betting it all on Google Assistant. "Research shows voice activated speakers are no mere novelty".

LG is not entirely straightforward about the technical specifications of the WK9 either, merely listing on the Korean company's official United States website support for proprietary ThinQ Artificial Intelligence capabilities, "premium class sound" tuned by Meridian Audio, the 8-inch size of the product's touch screen display, and both built-in Google Assistant and Chromecast functionality. JBL says it is the frist smart speaker to incorporate the Google Assistant with an 8-inch visual display with a touch screen and 5MP front facing camera. It can also make sci-fi-style video calls, play music and function as a central hub for all your smart home kit.

The high-resolution touch screen and camera is framed by two front-firing stereo speakers and a rear-facing passive radiator, delivering JBL Signature Sound with rich, deep bass. Google has taken over Las Vegas, promoting it's product "Home" in an effort to gain ground on Amazon's Echo. They make it easy to watch YouTube videos, enjoy personal photos, follow recipes, control smart home devices and more.

It will first be released in the United States mid-year, however there is no word on when it will reach Australia and no word on pricing.
