Nintendo Labo Kits Coming On April 20, 2018

Nintendo has just lifted the lid on a brand new line of products that will bring kids onto the Nintendo Switch.

Ever since Nintendo unveiled the Switch about one year ago, one message was immediately clear: The ability to interact with the console in a variety of different ways - docked to a TV, held in your hands, or propped up on a table - was going to be the device's distinguishing characteristic. Nintendo claims that you will be able to "explore how the mechanics work as you build and play with your Toy-Con creation".

While it's unclear if this would be a new hardware accessory for the Nintendo Switch or a new software, the wording indicates new system features to allow younger audiences to access the Nintendo Switch. Head down to the comments section to give us your take, and keep it here on SlashGear for more about Nintendo's new platform for the Switch! But Nintendo has rarely been one to stay the course, often trying new and different things. Fortunately, Nintendo seems interested in showing us.

Nintendo have always been famous for their playful games, but the announcement of Nintendo Labo has taken that one step further.

After a bunch of failed venture investments including a taxi company and even love hotels according to Kotaku, Nintendo started investing in toys in the 1960s.

The second kit is the "Robot Kit" which comes with a single game that turns you into a robot. It's building a Nintendo Switch-powered DIY cardboard creativity kit.

There don't seem to be any United Kingdom prices for either kit yet, but in America it's $69.99 (£51) for the Variety Kit and $79.99 (£58) for the Robot Kit. A special Customization Set that includes fun stencils, stickers and colored tape will also be available to purchase on April 20 at a suggested retail price of $9.99.

Innocent teen caught in crossfire of Saturday's shooting has died
An innocent 15-year-old who was shot during a night out with his family in Vancouver over the weekend has died of his injuries. The 15-year-old boy from Coquitlam was hit by a stray bullet as two men exchanged gunfire on Saturday night.

To use the RC Cars, insert the Left and Right Joy-Con and steer using the touchscreen on your Switch.

The Make category's video tutorials are as delightful as they are helpful, which I learned while assembling the RC vehicle and fishing rod Toy-Cons. Following Lego-like instructions on the Switch screen, you punch out the cardboard pieces and assemble them into contraptions of varying complexity. Once you feel a vibration from the Joy-Con inserted in the reel, you must tug the Fishing Rod upward and crank the reel quickly to try and complete the catch!

The Joy-Con controllers also fit into the constructions, as does the Switch screen, allowing you to give games their own unique peripherals; nearly like a low-tech version of an arcade cabinet.

Interested in branching off into cardboard toys with Nintendo? It also has knobs for tweaking the output and creating new noises, and you'll dock the Switch right into the little paper piano.

With cards and other materials, players can build certain objects, such as a piano, a doll, a fishing rod, and even a suit to control a robot.
