'The Crown': Helena Bonham Carter Gears Up to Play Princess Margaret

And HBC is no stranger to a period drama or taking the shape of a real life person: she has previously starred in Suffragette, Great Expectations and Les Miserables, and also played Elizabeth Taylor in TV movie Burton and Taylor.

Bonham Carter was nominated for several awards including an Oscar, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actor's Guild award for her portrayal of the beloved member of the royal family.

Carter, star of Sweeney Todd: The Demon of Fleet Street and Alice in Wonderland among others, will next be seen in Warner Bros' Ocean's 8, the female-driven caper spinoff directed by Gary Ross.

The 51-year-old actress is "all but confirmed" to play the part of Princess Margaret - Queen Elizabeth II's younger, and at times controversial sister - in seasons 3 and 4 of the critically acclaimed series, the UK's Evening Standard newspaper reports. But the excitement of it so far has been introducing new names, like Foy and Kirby.

The second season of The Crown debuted on Netflix just last month on December 8, giving audiences their last glimpses of Foy, alongside John Lithgow as Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

Season 3 of The Crown will likely begin filming before the year's end, and we'll be bringing you all the latest as Helena Bonham Carter's deal is signed, sealed and delivered. But the Harry Potter actress certainly has the haughtiness of the Princess. Colman is expected to portray the next incarnation of the United Kingdom's longest reigning female monarch. "There are things beyond that I would have loved to have played, like [Princess Margaret] got morekind of sassy and even more outspoken and more demanding and aggressive in some ways".

Losing Kirby, however, is still going to hurt and she feels the same.
