YouTube 'Looking at Further Consequences' For Logan Paul

YouTube have publicly apologised for the fall-out over Logan Paul's controversial "suicide forest" video, which appeared to show an apparent suicide victim. YouTube has removed Paul from its premium ad program, Google Preferred, the company revealed on Wednesday.

"In light of recent events, we have made a decision to remove Logan Paul's channels from Google Preferred", a YouTube representative said. "Additionally, we will not feature Logan in season 4 of "Foursome" and his new Originals are on hold", says a YouTube spokesperson.

As a result, whether or not The Thinning: A New World Order will launch is still unclear.

The video was uploaded on December 31 on Paul's YouTube channel and garnered some 6 million views before it was taken down due to widespread condemnation from netizens who accused Paul of making light of suicide.

YouTube is beginning to punish Logan Paul in the wake of controversy.

Paul, said to be worth $14 million, also released an apology over the vlog, which he shockingly said was meant to be "fun". Three strikes within a three-month period is cause to terminate a user's account.

YouTube's statement went on: "We expect more of the creators who build their community on YouTube, as we're sure you do too".

"As Anna Akana put it perfectly: iThat body was a person someone loved".

Logan Paul is a popular YouTuber with over 15.6 million subscribers.

"Like many others, we were upset by the video that was shared last week", it wrote. While none of these steps will stop Paul from vlogging or even advertising on his channel, it will certainly affect the amount of money and exposure his brand makes going forward.

YouTube acknowledged that it had taken a long time to respond, but said they had been listening to everyone's comments.

Paul has since said he's taking time away from his daily YouTube channel. Logan Paul later claimed that the monetised upload was an attempt to create suicide awareness.
