Apple updates operating systems to fix app-crashing bug

iPhone Telugu bug will be fixed before iOS 11.3, assures Apple

Users will be able to install a new version of the operating system which powers iPhones and iPads, which is called iOS 11.2.6.

The new software versions are mainly created to address the Telugu character bug that was crashing Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac machines, and blocking access to the pre-installed Messages app as well as third-party apps such as Facebook Messenger, Gmail, and Twitter.

While this bug isn't going to wipe your data or anything super sinister like that, having your phone crash repeatedly just because a particular character was texted to you could be pretty annoying.

You should be able to download both updates right now, and you should, or you'll probably get pranked in the near future. Interestingly, the fix is already implemented in the latest iOS 11.3 Beta, but that release is miles away from now. Unfortunately, the latest minor update may have brought more harm than good, as several users have been complaining about their devices crashing, as well as most of the apps becoming inaccessible.

Apple has released a fix for a bug that was causing rashes on each of its respective platforms.

The new software update also patches connection of third-party apps with the external accessories. This will also enable a transparent layer to check the health of the battery on iPhones. A minimum of 50 percent charge is necessary to begin the update procedure and you need to keep the charging dock ready too. It makes sense as Apple was forced to release a couple of other bug fixes in recent months. Now that the Telugu Unicode is affecting Twitter, the company has its work cut out to fix the glitch as early as possible. Apart from that, the Apple Watch, TV and macOS devices are getting the watchOS 4.2.3, tvOS 11.2.6, and macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 updates respectively. You can find it in Software Update.
