Ex-49ers lineman's disturbing Instagram post might have led to school closing

Harvard-Westlake closed its Studio City campus Friday due to a possible security threat posted on social media

In his Instagram post, he tagged former teammates Richie Incognito and Mike Pouncey, as well as the Miami Dolphins and Harvard-Westlake, a private school in Los Angeles that Martin attended.

A former Harvard-Westlake student made an indirect threat on Instagram, seeking revenge as a bully victim, police told multiple media outlets in Los Angeles.

"The atmosphere was a bit peculiar for the first 20 minutes because none of us really knew what was happening", sophomore Michael Lehrhoff said.

LAPD Sgt. Frank Albarran told the L.A. "He's not a threat anymore".

The image also had hashtags #HarvardWestlake - his high school - and #MiamiDolphins on the rifle.

Harvard-Westlake School informed students it was closing "out of an abundance of caution" in an email Friday morning, adding, "we believe there is no imminent threat to our campuses or our school community". "We are working closely with law enforcement and will share more information when we are available". Harvard-Westlake School closed both its campuses.

Rockets blast Wolves as Butler hurt
James Harden wrapped up another 30-point night and another Rockets victory, then made his way to Minnesota's training room. After missing a short jump shot, Butler grabbed an offensive rebound before pivoting and landing hard on his right foot.

The Instagram post, coming from Martin's verified account, included a photo of a gun and bullets.

Martin was a second round draft pick and landed at the Dolphins from Stanford University in 2012.

Incognito, a National Football League pro-bowl lineman for the Bills, dealt with the accusation from Martin in 2013.

After the devastating shooting deaths of 17 people at a high school in Parkland, Fla., people around the country are engaged in a heated debate over guns. His one season with the 49ers, 2014, was his last in the NFL.

He ultimately quit the team and debated giving up on his career, feeling such psychological duress that he said he twice considered committing suicide. He declined to confirm that the man is Martin or to explain the meaning of "detained", which he said does not necessarily mean Martin is in jail or police custody.

Martin left the Dolphins in 2013 after the bullying incidents and joined the San Francisco 49ers in 2014, playing 15 games (nine starts). However, shortly thereafter, Martin posted a Facebook message stating that mental health issues and suicide attempts also factored into his decision to leave the sport.
