Injong Rhee, a Samsung executive that played a key role in the development of Samsung Bixby, Samsung Pay, and Samsung Knox, is joining Google.

According to a report published on Tuesday, former Samsung Chief Technical Officer Injong Rhee is getting ready to join Google as an entrepreneur-in-residence. At Google, Rhee will be working on projects related to the Internet of Things. It was reported two weeks ago that he had left Samsung due to personal reasons.

Last week Google righted a wrong and brought Nest back into the fold and directly into their hardware division in a move to push AI to more home devices.

"One of the first things I would like to do with my Google colleagues is to get these efforts coordinated and aligned toward a concerted IoT story of Google - in the process, create distinct consumer and enterprise product lines", Rhee also said in his LinkedIn post. Samsung is a business which has been searching for future relevance and losing a senior executive is never a good sign for a business. "More people use Bixby". Eventually, he was made the head of Samsung's R&D team 1, which worked on software and services.

Bill and Melinda Gates answer 'tough questions' in annual letter
Bill Gates said he's concerned by Trump's focus on "America First", and his proposal to slash foreign-aid funding. To a lesser degree, the foundation also works to improve the USA educational system.

Rhee's work with Samsung is widely respected within the company, pushing for the development of Bixby following the company's acquisition of Viv, as well as the acquisition of cloud firm Joylent.

Apple is perhaps the only brand which can survive in product mode.

Google spokeswoman Jane Hynes confirmed to Reuters Rhee's hiring by Google's cloud computing unit, but declined to comment further.
