Nuance is discontinuing its Swype keyboard for Android and iOS

Alas Swype keyboard app for Android and iOS gets discontinued

Nuance's Swype keyboard apps for iOS and Android have been discontinued, as the company focuses its efforts on the business market ...

Back in the days, when Apple added support for third-party keyboards in 2008 with iOS 11, the app caught the eye of a lot of users.

The Google Play Store has so many incredible keyboards to choose from and Swype is easily one among the best.

For now, the Swype app is still available on the Google Play store; and chances are it won't be fully taken down.

Tonga: Cyclone Gita - Emergency Plan of Action (EPoA) DREF n° MDRTO001
There would be severe gales with damaging gusts, and high tide hitting overnight on Tuesday could bring waves larger than 6m high. With this very tightly packed and deep low comes very strong winds and very heavy rain for central parts of the country.

In announcing the iOS version's fate, the product team said Nuance will no longer be offering the Swype keyboard in the App Store.

The keyboard is known for its exceptionally good response time and the customization options provided by the developers.

It's a wrap for the once popular keyboard app that was even incorporated in low-end Samsung devices like the Galaxy Young (remember it?) and the Galaxy mini (when it was updated to Android 2.3, Gingerbread). They are planning to create more AI solutions for enterprises as it is a more lucrative method to sustain their business in the long run. These keyboards each provide their own unique features to make text entry a better experience. In other words, if you want it, I'd grab it ASAP.

It was eventually released for Android as a paid for app in 2013 and for iOS the following year. We hope you enjoyed using Swype, we sure enjoyed working with the Swype community. In fact, Swype was one of the first keyboards that allowed users to type by sliding their fingers over the keyboard.
