The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced Tuesday that the Bears will play the Baltimore Ravens in the Hall of Fame Game on Thursday, Aug. 2.

The game kicks off the 2018 Enshrinement Week, as the Hall of Fame Class of 2018 - including Brian Urlacher and Ray Lewis - will be inducted on Saturday, Aug. 4. The hall of fame likes to feature teams that have marquee players that played an extended period of time with one team.

With Lewis' popularity and long-term impact on the Ravens, a heavy Baltimore contingent is expected in Canton for the Hall of Fame festivities.

This will be the Bears' record-tying fifth time playing in the Hall of Fame game.

Other members of the 2018 Hall class are receivers Randy Moss and Terrell Owens, safety Brian Dawkins, guard Jerry Kramer (senior inductee), linebacker Robert Brazile (senior inductee) and former Redskins general manager Bobby Beathard (contributor inductee). They have gone 4-0 in the games, also topping the Cowboys in 1968, Jets in 1977 and Browns in 1990. Regarded as the preeminent linebacker of his era, Lewis was twice named Defensive Player of the Year. Playing in Canton allows the Bears to start camp and practices a couple days earlier.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls, a multi-day celebration of the enshrinement of the newest Hall of Fame Class, is held each year in Canton. Plenty of fans from both cities will make the trip to OH for the game, and for the enshrinement ceremony. Packages range from event-day offerings to four-day experiences that include exclusive extras.
