First Trailer, Stills Released For Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Fantastic Beasts fans can rejoice, as the first official teaser trailer for the second magical film has just been released by Warner Bros.

The first trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is here, giving Harry Potter fans a glimpse of where this increasingly sprawling saga is headed.

The outside of the castle looks the same, but Dumbledore's office looks different. They took to Twitter to express their enthusiasm and their emotions. As revealed in the Harry Potter series, they're only able to be seen by those who have witnessed death and are considered very risky magical creatures.

The last time fans saw their beloved castle on screen was in 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, when it was covered in debris from the aftermath of the war.

The movie seems to be picking up where the first left off following the capture of the Grindelwald. And it looks like Newt's latest adventure will be taking him (and us) back to Hogwarts. Perhaps it's run-ins like this that will make Dumbledore change rules about apparating at school.

Perhaps we human beings are the real fantastic beasts. It should interesting to see the roles these characters play in Grindelwald's schemes, and to see how Newt uses these new beasts to stop them. For unknown reasons, he tells Newt that he can't be the one to go against Johnny Depp's dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald and so the floppy-haired animal lover will have to do the job.

Starring: Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravitz, Alison Suddol. That brings us to the final Harry Potter connection: the Deathly Hallows symbol in the Crimes of Grindelwald trailer.

Newt Scamander is back, Dumbledore debuts, Grindelwald has escaped, and those fantastic beasts are still out and about.
