Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik announce split in loving messages

BREAKING: Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik Split After 2+ Years of Dating

Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have reportedly split and there's one question on everyone's lips - what is he going to do about the tattoo?

The couple has called it quits after two years of dating. The post served as a joint statement of sorts, and - despite the sad nature of the news - was nothing but respectful and loving. "She has an incredible soul", Malik wrote.

The 22-year-old continued, "I'm forever grateful for the love, time and life lessons that Z and I shared". The two truly seemed to be head over heels in love, we can't believe they're no longer together! They announced the news Tuesday in separate Twitter statements after a United Kingdom outlet reported on the split. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have huge respect and love for.

Gigi also posted about their breakup, explaining that she didn't necessarily want to make a statement about the pair ending, and that she's semi-optimistic about the future, closing her post with, "whatever's meant to be, will always be".

"The reality is that they've grown apart, having been together for a long time".

Sources close to the couple assure that the break up was mutual and there is no hard feelings or resentment between them.

News of the split comes just a handful of months after Bradford-born Zayn took to social media to share a boomerang of himself and Gigi sharing a passionate kiss as they celebrated two years of being together.

The source said Malik and Hadid "have insane work schedules that would put pressure on any relationship".

"When life throws you lemons, catch em so you don't get hit in the f-king face", Malik captioned the photo.
