Man arrested after car drives into nightclub causing 'panic and chaos'

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said they had been called to assist Kent Police at an incident

A clip posted on social media showed a 4X4 entering a marquee at the club in Gravesend, in the footage the car's headlights are on, while people are gathered on a dancefloor.

As soon as the incident took place, Kent fire, rescue service and ambulance crews were also called to the scene.

Police were called to Blake's in Queen Street, Gravesend, at 11.47pm last night and are still at the scene.

A number of people have been injured after a man drove a vehicle into a Gravesend nightclub, police have said.

The driver of the vehicle is believed to have been asked to leave the nightclub following an altercation before driving his auto into the venue.

A witness Sonny Powar said, "I saw two people get hit by the auto before the driver was pulled from the vehicle".

Detectives remain at the scene of an incident in Gravesend where 13 people were injured by a auto.

Police said Sunday that at least 13 people suffered injuries including broken bones but none of the injuries is life-threatening.

Witnesses described "a complete mess of panic and chaos" in the wake of the incident shortly before midnight on Saturday.

"I knew he wasn't going to stop so I just got my girlfriend and we ran out of there".

'Thank you to the heroic actions of our door team and guests to apprehend the individual before further harm was caused'. Nightclubbers have been speaking of the shock and panic as the vehicle drove on to the dance floor.

He said: 'My God I almost died.

Kent Police have revealed the vehicle was a Suzuki Vitara.
