Trump Personal Assistant Reportedly Fired Over Security Issue

WASHINGTON-President Donald Trump's personal assistant, John McEntee, was escorted out of the White House on Monday, two senior administration officials said. McEntee was not allowed to collect his belongings when he was escorted from White House grounds. According to multiple reports, he's under a financial crimes investigation. The cause of the firing was an unspecified security issue, said a third White House official with knowledge of the situation.

"I have been warning for more than a year about the White House's deficient background check process - as well as specific officials who have been granted access to our nation's most closely guarded secrets despite derogatory information known to White House officials", wrote Cummings.

John McEntee was sacked from his job as President Donald Trump's "body man" on Monday, as he is reportedly under investigation by the Depertment of Homeland Security for "serious financial crimes", according to CNN.

Trump fired his secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, on Tuesday, and his top economic adviser Gary Cohn resigned last week.

And it highlights the extent to which the re-election campaign has already become a landing pad for former Trump associates who have left the White House but remain loyal to the President. He delivered messages to the president at the White House residence, carried markers for Trump to sign autographs, and, most recently, changed clocks at the White House to adjust for daylight saving time.

They won't be completely without him. He'll work alongside Katrina Pierson, who served as the 2016 campaign's national spokesperson and will now oversee the campaign's national grassroots outreach.

The Trump campaign also announced on Tuesday that McEntee would rejoin the team as a senior advisor for operations.
