Trump's 'vulgarity' toward Chuck Todd 'not a good look — Fox's Kurtz

Todd who responded four hours before the rally said Trump's critique had'no basis in fact

Meet the Press host Chuck Todd responded to President Donald Trump calling him a "sleeping son of a bitch" during a rally.

"I think the president of the United States has every right to hit back against Chuck Todd or anyone else if he thinks that he has said something or reported something that is unfair or untrue", Kurtz said.

Mnuchin also argued the press should pay less attention to Trump's rally speeches and more attention to his policies, such as his announcement on tariffs last week. "And he believes, more importantly, in protecting democracy around the world".

"If that's what we should be focused on then why can't the president focus on that, sir?"

Todd added, "If you think the last 13 months have been tumultuous, you ain't seen nothing yet".

"I wasn't at the campaign rally as you know", the treasury secretary stuttered.

The commentary from the "Media Buzz" host comes after Trump took aim at Todd during a raucous rally Saturday night ahead of a crucial special house election in Pennsylvania's 18th District.

"So, should we stop covering the campaign rallies?"

"A show now headed by 'Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd, '" Trump said. He accused all of Todd's Trump stories of being "negative" and containing a "false accusation or implication".

"You should obviously carry them", Mnuchin said. "And they showed it this morning, 1999, and I'm talking about North Korea, 'You gotta take them out now'".

"I bring my kids up to respect the office of the presidency and the president".

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos on Monday criticized President Donald Trump's use of vulgarity on the campaign trail to mock NBC News anchor Chuck Todd, pointing to "an opportunity and responsibility to be examples to our kids". Todd interrupted. "Don't worry about him as a role model?"

"I would probably use different language myself", DeVos said. "I don't know why you are putting these words in what I'm trying to say".

"But just to be cursing him I think is not a good look for the president", he said.

"He's using these vulgarities in the context of a campaign rally, and obviously there were a lot of amusing moments on that rally", he said. "And obviously there were a lot of amusing moments on that rally".

Noonan, who appeared as a guest on Todd's program Sunday, said she would never conflate Trump with a Neanderthal-ostensibly to avoid denigrating the archaic human species.
