Ubisoft officially announce The Division 2

But, the publisher did reveal that an updated version of the Snowdrop engine will be powering the sequel, and that the title will be fully unveiled at E3 this year.

News of the game first leaked through stock website 4-Traders, which published a blog post from creative director Julian Gerighty. The developers are going to "invest all the experience [they've] accumulated over the past two years in this sequel to make sure everything is going well". With any luck, Ubisoft and Massive will have learnt from this and launch The Division 2 with plenty of activities, including end-game attractions such as a raid and replayable dungeons. The development team actually started working on the concepts for the sequel right after the release of the previous title, even though the company has provided continued support to the game even two years after its release. That will also include an enhancement patch for Xbox One X. There will also be four new missions available in "legendary" difficulty, for instance, and an additional pair in the 1.82 "parsnip" update. Starting in June, you'll be able to play Crests in the first game, which will reward you with achievements that allow you to unlock goodies in The Division 2. We'll report back as more details are shared. We can't wait to show you what we have in store for The Division 2 at E3 2018 in June. Some thought that this was in preparation for a third year of more content and updates for the original, but we've heard otherwise. The snow-covered streets of NY looked gorgeous, giving off an oppressive atmosphere as you explored abandoned houses and engaged in firefights with bandits.

No launch date for The Division 2 was specified, nor were platforms, though Massive said that it will once again build the game with the Snowdrop Engine that powered the original game.
