"Bumblebee" Writer Joins Batgirl Movie

It's been a whirlwind of a year for DC's Batgirl and her journey to the big screen.

Now it's learned the film is back on track and has a new writer attached.

Joss Whedon was first announced on the Batgirl movie previous year; however, following the poor reception of Justice League and what looks to be a PC-driven factor, Whedon claimed he left the project because he couldn't come up with a story.

Christina Hodson, who wrote the upcoming Transformers spinoff Bumblebee, has been tapped to pen a new script featuring Barbra Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon.

This movie would still star the most famous iteration of Batgirl, a.k.a. Barbara Gordon. The writer has also taken a stab at the Batgirl as she has been involved on a Birds of Prey movie at Warner Bros.

Thomas Davis insists he is not a cheat despite positive test
I know he has my back". "Just know that in no way - in no way - have I done anything intentionally to try to cheat this game". But he left open the possibility of playing beyond 2018 on Friday, saying "who knows, maybe this isn't my a year ago ".

THR was the first to report on this development, which means that DC is still serious about getting this project off the ground, particularly with the increase in interest for superhero movies that cater to women and minorities.

DC fans, there's new hope to be had for the Batgirl project that is now in limbo. She's a flawless choice for the film, considering she's also writing for Birds of Prey, a movie about an all-female crime fighting group which features Batgirl as a character.

Though this is confirmation that a Batgirl movie is still coming, we still have no idea how the film will tie into the existing DCEU, if indeed it ties in at all.

There is no release date set for Batgirl, and it's not yet clear how much of a priority it is for the studio.
