David Pastrnak totals 3 goals, 3 assists as Bruins rout Maple Leafs

Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask looks for a loose puck during the second period of an NHL hockey game against the Philadelphia Flyers in Philadelphia. Toronto goalie Frederik Andersen and Boston counterpart Tuukk

They have taken a too-many-men-on-the-ice penalty in each of the first two games, and minors that come from mental mistakes, not physical ones.

The Bruins, who lead the series 2-0, will take their show on the road, as Game 3 is Monday in Toronto. In all that time, having a line score 20 points in two games against one of his teams is a first. The Bruins top line center is playing as good as anyone in the National Hockey League right now. "We can be better in certainly just about all aspects". That came in Game 1 with Zach Hyman's highlight-reel goal.

The Leafs could have used Kadri — and a few other scorers like him.

"Hell of night", Marchand said of Pastrnak's performance. Torey Krug added three assists for the Bruins, who got 30 stops from Tuukka Rask.

This one ended up in the top left corner of the net.

Pastrnak's historic night is a sign of postseason maturity.

. That clearly has not been the case for Boston's top unit this postseason, as they have had little trouble with any of the Maple Leafs' defensive units. While Pastrnak got his six points, Bergeron and Marchand each had four assists. With his six points on the night, the 21-year-old became the youngest player to achieve that honor in a playoff game. They handed me a satellite phone so I could talk to my wife, and say hello to Helena, and the first question I - well, I said, "Hello, love" - and then the first question I asked was, "So how did the Leafs do?" I'm guessing by the results in the first two games they're not going to play him head-to-head against Bergy.

"Yeah, I mean you look at a game like this, sometimes that gets overlooked, for sure", said Cassidy.

The Boston Bruins spent most of the season dealing with injuries.

Masters: It was like a funeral in there, you could hear a pin drop, the guys were just shocked, they were stunned, they were just trying to come to grips with everything.

Tory: I was at the Jays Care, they have that annual fundraiser to raise money for their foundation and they do it on the field at the Rogers Centre. "And they're a good team, they're going to have a push". He's an unrestricted free agent in the off-season and, if you try to project the future, who gets paid how much for how long, it just doesn't feel like there's a place for him at all going forward.

Pastrnak, with three goals and three assists, was named First Star, and Marchand, with four assists, was picked Second Star. The timing wasn't great either - the game was in its death throes, the Leafs hopelessly out of it. The Leafs had a goalie change - from Frederik Andersen to Curtis McElhinney - to show for their slow start. He put the slow-footed Leo Komarov on the top line, but that was destined to fail. But they still needed to clean some things up even with a comfortable lead.

Notes: The Bruins donated $200,000 to the Humboldt Broncos relief efforts, the money from a luxury suite auction and the team's share of the 50/50 raffle at Game 1 of the series. After Kapanen failed to tie the game, Boston went back on the attack on the powerplay and was able to convert due to Jake DeBrusk's tip-in, right on top of the crease, doubling the Bruins lead. While head coach Mike Babcock has attempted to get Auston Matthews' line away from Patrice Bergeron's line all season, it's the preferred matchup for Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy. So, you lose 5-2, 5-4, 10-2, it doesn't matter; it's a loss. There's really specific gear you're supposed to wear under your pressure suit but I thought, you know, what the heck?

Through two games of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, no one looks more like a tire fire than the Toronto Maple Leafs.
