Former Carolina Panthers CB Daryl Worley tasered, arrested in Philadelphia

Former Panthers CB Daryl Worley arrested by Philadelphia police

Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley was arrested in South Philadelphia on Sunday morning, and league sources tell NBC Sports Philadelphia's Derrick Gunn that the team will likely release him.

Worley was detained after police received a 911 call about an automobile obstructing a highway at Philadelphia, according to an NFL Network report.

In another tweet, Rapoport reported that Worley was found passed out inside a vehicle blocking the highway.

Worley came to play in his hometown in an off-season trade with the Carolina Panthers. Just as troubling, Worley allegedly had a gun on him when the police arrived on the scene.

Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Daryl Worley has been arrested, Action News has learned.

Worley, 23, had two interceptions last season and has three in his two-year career.

According to NJ.com, Worley is a Philadelphia native and graduate of William Penn Charter High School. Players are set to report to the NovaCare complex for the start of offseason workouts on Monday. While he was in college at West Virginia, he entered a no contest plea and was given a six-month suspended sentence for an altercation with a woman outside a nightclub.

As he started his National Football League career, the Carolina Panthers drafted Worley in the third round of the 2016 draft.
